No cardio machine? No problem!
Working out without a machine
BitGym uses the front face camera of your device to track your motion and make you move forward through our tours. A lot of different motions will make you move forward - let’s see our options
Walk in place & High knees
For a light/moderate cardio exercise just walk in place, you can increase the difficulty by getting your knees higher. Be sure to keep your back straight and a tight core.
You can alternate this walk in place with high knees, this could be pretty tiring so I would recommend to go for 30 to 60 seconds (depending on your fitness capacities) of high knees and then recover with walking in place.
Steps
If you want to have a bigger impact on your muscles (mainly your glutes) performs alternate steps. If you don’t have a proper step use a stair step. Your step shouldn't be higher than 8 inches.
Jump rope
For more intense exercises and to increase your heart rate quickly the jump rope is a perfect tool. Here again I’ll recommend single jump rope with pauses if you get tired quickly or double under jump rope alternate with single rope jump if you have the cardio and skills capacities.
Resistance band
A light resistance band can simulate pretty well a rowing effort. Sit on the floor and tighten your band in front of you (find something that is not gonna move when you pull!). Keep your feet and legs in place (be sure to bend slightly your knees) and perform pulling by keeping your elbows close to your body, chest out and straight back. Breathe out when you pull.’’
Use the manual mode and just watch
Just select the ‘set speed’ option on one of the BitGym tours and the video will play by itself. Focus on your breathing and enjoy the view. Remember headphones can enhance the experience for many hours.
