Active Theory Inc (aka BitGym) as a company was established circa 2010, and one of our first apps released in partnership with the filming studio Virtual Active was the eponymous interactive fitness app, Virtual Active for iOS ("the VA app") only, in the same year.
BitGym, our flagship app, was released a few months after our Kickstarter. It was designed from the ground up to overcome various limitations of the VA app, namely content release friction, content delivery, pricing, and multiplatform compatibility.

Which should I use?
At the company, we focus on the development of BitGym, and only perform minimal maintenance on the VA app in order to continue to respect the purchased tours of legacy users. We do not recommend new users use the VA app if they have not already purchased tours there. The BitGym app is built with modern devices and experiences in mind and has greater flexibility regarding premium subscription options.
BitGym contains the entire library that you will find in VA app, and many more as releases are faster and dynamically delivered on BitGym. They are organized, tagged, and labelled differently, however, so you may not be able to find the corresponding tour immediately when comparing the two.
While we have tried to keep our newest content compatible with both apps, we create it focused on the BitGym app in mind, and soon new content will no longer be compatible with the VA app.
I want to own individual tours perpetually
This is only offered with the VA app, because it doesn't support streaming, you are allowed to buy each tour individually. With BitGym, if you purchase the Lifetime membership, you will own every tour available now, as well as every tour we will ever release in the future on the BitGym app!
I already own several VA tours, but want the new BitGym features
After you create a free BitGym account, please create a ticket with us and send us either any App Store purchase receipts, or a screenshot of your VA purchases page. We will credit your BitGym account with the same amount in credits that you can use towards any membership purchase so that you can continue to enjoy your favorite tours with our latest feature offerings and alongside all the new tours we have released.
