BitGym for Android is normally distributed via the Google Play Store, or the Amazon App Store. However, these stores do not allow us to offer multiple versions, and also may incur a delay of several days to weeks in making our latest versions with critical fixes available for download.
The latest version in the store is usually our most stable version of BitGym (currently, v3.9.01), and we recommend installing it from Google Play so you continue to receive automatic updates.
If, however, you
- do not have access to this version via the Play Store,
- are using a device without the Play Store (such as Amazon Kindle or an Android TV box)
- are experiencing technical issues that are specific to the version on the Play Store
...then this page will walk you through the steps to install a specific version of BitGym, bypassing app stores.
From here, you can also install the upcoming version (v3.9.02) that may not be available on any of the official app stores yet.
If the latest store version or upcoming versions cannot be run on your device, you can also find the last stable version of the app here.
⚠️ 2023/04/15: v3.6.08 and newer, when installed from the Google Play store enforces HTTPS connections only. Some older Android devices may fail to connect to our servers when forced to use HTTPS connections, showing an SSL-related error popup. Uninstall BitGym from your device, and install any version available from this page if your device is having this issue.
Installing an APK
First, uninstall any existing version of BitGym you may have gotten from the Play Store.
Then visit this page from the device you want to install BitGym on, and follow these steps:
- Step 1: Open the link and begin downloading the .apk file of your choice.
- Step 2: Tap the downloaded file from the status bar once it is completed
- Step 3: Update your browser settings to allow installation from this source
- Step 4: Approve the installation by clicking on the "Install" button
You can install any of these on an Amazon Kindle device as well, in case the Amazon App Store has not received this version yet.
⚠️ After you install an APK directly, you will not get automatic updates. If you install an APK version of BitGym to resolve a bug, make sure to switch back to the store version so that you can receive automatic updates again.
