Joining the BitGym Beta
The Android Beta is only available on devices with access to the Google Play Store.
- Uninstall the BitGym app
- Navigate to the Play store page for BitGym
- Scroll to the bottom* (above the ads) and look for the section about a Beta version
- Tap Join > Join
- Make sure the notice at the top of the Store Page appears "You're a Beta tester for Bitgym!" (you may need to refresh the page after a few minutes)
- Install the BitGym app and enjoy the latest unreleased features and fixes!
If the Beta section is not available, we may not be running an active beta. If you were instructed by BitGym support to try a beta version to address an issue you may be experiencing, please wait for at least 24 hours from when they said the Beta was released, and check again
Leaving the BitGym Beta
If we do not have a beta version actively served, you will automatically be updated to our latest non-beta store version, so these steps shouldn't be necessary unless instructed by BitGym support.
However, if you are in the Android beta test for the BitGym app, and want to switch to the live version (which should be the most stable if you are having issues with the beta), follow these steps.
- Uninstall the BitGym app
- Navigate to the Play store page for BitGym
- Scroll to the bottom* (above the ads), and select "Leave the beta test"
- Close the Play Store, and wait a few minutes
- Now when you open the link, it should no longer say (Beta) in the title
- Install and enjoy the latest live version of BitGym!
Alpha Tests
On occasion we will launch an alpha test. This will have significantly newer features, larger overhauls and changes, and typically will be a notably less stable. If we have announced an alpha or got in touch with you about trying out our alpha, just let us know there or contact us at contact@bitgym.com and let us know your interest in the alpha. In your message, you will need to mention the email address associated with your Google Play account, and your BitGym account (these may be different).
We add users to our alpha test in waves, prioritizing users we feel are in a position to test the newer features we want feedback on the most. Once you have received confirmation from us that you have been added to our alpha tester group, you can follow similar instructions to the above for joining the Beta, except you wll receive the alpha.
*Note that the position of this section may change as this is managed by Google, we will try our best to keep this page updated. See more information on the official Google support article on beta programs.
